Last night Cadynce opened her Christmas gift, and it was a sit'n spin. Don put it together, sat her on it, and decided to get her something else. He went to Target that night and got her a toy she can play with now. Cadynce also opened her gift from her friend Aiden, and it was a little dog that she will some day walk. I can't wait for that day. View Album for more pictures.

Santa
Cadynce and I are involved in a program called Born to Learn, and I have a parent educator come to our house weekly. Last night the program had a Christmas party for the kids downtown, and they got to get their picture taken with Santa. Each child also went home with a winter coat and a new toy. It was so warm outside that we dressed her in short sleeves and sandals...only in San Antonio!! Cadynce wasn't exactly happy to sit on Santa's lap, but she didn't cry.

8 Months Old
Cadynce turned 8 months old today and she is getting more personality every day. We had a little photo shoot this morning, and I tried to capture some of her facial expressions (they are much better in person). She is now signing dog and milk, as well as waving hi/bye. Our 3rd Anniversary
Don surprised me and took me to a really cool restaurant called The Grey Moss Inn. Inside it was small and had a rustic feel to it. Cadynce did great even though it was nearing her bed time. She had green beans for dinner, and she LOVES green beans. We had Dairy Queen for dessert! View Album for more pictures.

Carrie & Aubrey Visit
Carrie and Aubrey flew out to spend the weekend with me, while Don was in Indiana at the Air Force vs. Notre Dame game. Carrie, Aubrey, Cadynce, and I had a great weekend; we did a little shopping, but mostly hung out at home with the kids. View album for more pictures.

Brotherly Love
The big day was finally here; Don and Jeff woke up early to get to the starting line by 7:30 am. It was a little chilly in the morning, but it turned out to be a perfect day for a 26.2 mile run! Julie and I took the metro to see the boys at mile 9, 13, and 22. Congratulations to Don and Jeff finishing in 4 hours 1 minute and 35 seconds!! I am so proud of my husband for his dedication and for accomplishing such a long run! It was so cool watching Don and Jeff run this marathon together, and we all had a great time together. After the race we went back to the hotel and got our luggage then had dinner at the metro station before going to the airport. We flew to Atlanta where we had a layover, but we missed our connection so we stayed the night at a hotel. The earliest flight was at 7:30 this morning, and we got into San Antonio at 9. We could have done without the last part of the trip, but we got home safe and all three of us slept the entire plane ride. View Album for more pictures.

Six Months Old
The past few days have been pretty exciting for us. We started Cadynce on rice cereal on Monday night, and she did very well for the first time. Tuesday we finally bought a high chair for Cadynce, and I'm using it a lot more than I thought I would. I roll her around the kitchen with me while I'm cooking, doing the dishes, or doing laundry, and she loves it.We had her six month check up today and Cadynce weighs 14 pounds 13 ounces and she is 26 inches long. She got four shots and she only screamed for about 20 seconds until they gave her a sticker!
We celebrated her half birthday today with half of a birthday cake and a learning puppy. The huge stuffed bear was a gift from someone Don works with. It was a very fun evening for us all. View Album for more pictures.

Jon and Jordanna's Wedding
Jon and Jordanna were so kind to let us stay in one of the 6 bedrooms in the beach house. The beach house was pretty much where everything happened; the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding.
Thursday night we hung out at the beach house and got to know Jon's family. Jon's brother and family also stayed at the beach house and they have a 3 year old and an 8 month old, so Cadynce had a friend.
Friday morning we woke up early for the "Runaway Bride Fun Run." They had a half marathon and a 5K mapped out for anyone who wanted to run. Don ran the half marathon plus another five miles, and I pushed Cadynce in the jogger for the 5K. We had the rest of the day to go on our own until the rehearsal that evening. We had the rehearsal dinner at the beach house where we had California Pizza Kitchen pizza and soup, salad, and bread sticks from Olive Garden. It was wonderful to be able to go upstairs to give Cadynce a bath and put her to sleep then go back downstairs to hang out.
Saturday morning we got up and walked across the street to the ocean and took some pictures. I got my hair and nails done, then we got ready for the wedding. The weather was perfect and the ceremony was beautiful; they did such a great job with making their wedding to fit their personalities and interests. We took pictures then the bridal party got on a boat to go across the inlet where the reception was held. We stayed for dinner, cake, and the first dance; then we had to get Cadynce in bed and our bags packed so we could leave the next morning by 5. Cadynce did great again on the plane and we got home around 5:30pm. Both of Cadynce's bottom teeth broke through this weekend too! View Album for more pictures.

Clap, Clap, Clap
Miss Cadynce clapped her hands for the first time last night. We were just playing with her blocks like we always do, and every time she claps her blocks together I say "Yeah" (you'll hear in the video). Well, this time she clapped her hands and I immediately looked at Don and asked if he saw her. We grabbed the camera so we could get it on video and she just kept clapping for us. It was so cute. Don and Rhonda Move...
I was able to watch one of Robbie's football games and also go to Alissa's birthday party on Saturday. Alissa is four years old now!! Sunday morning I went to church with my parents and Don ran 18 miles with Jeff and Julie. We got to go see Mum Mum, Pappy, and Linda on Sunday before we left. We also had a little cookout at my parents house so we could see everyone before we left for the airport. We had a very busy, but great weekend. View Album for lots of pictures.

Dedication
We had Cadynce dedicated at church on Saturday afternoon. It went very well except they called her by the wrong name and we had to correct them. Each family went up one by one and while we were up on stage they had a picture of Cadynce on the big screen along with the meaning of her name and a verse to go along with it. The verse they picked for Cadynce was Galatians 5: 25-"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit". Cadynce fell asleep right before we went up on stage so she missed it all! Cadynce Kisses
We had our Saturday night ritual, which is going to church then eating at Chipotle, and we didn't get home by 7 which is when we start Cadynce's bed time routine. There's a very small window we have to work with for putting her to bed without crying. I knew I was in trouble when she was done eating and looked at me and started talking. I figured she wasn't tired enough, and I didn't want to be frustrated for an hour trying to calm her down so we went downstairs and played with her blocks and read her books until she was tired. Don took some great pictures of me and my bundle of joy. View Album for more pictures.

Grandpa and MiMi Visit
Don and Rhonda came to visit us for Labor Day Weekend. Cadynce sure had a great time hanging out with her MiMi and Grandpa Don. On Saturday afternoon Rhonda and I took Cadynce to the pool and just as we were about to get out of the pool it started pouring rain on us. We had to run for cover at the pool house and wait for the rain to stop before we walked home. It was a cloudy and rainy weekend so we were so glad we got to the pool one day. Grandpa Don and MiMi got her the swimsuit and robe in the pictures and boy did she look cute. View Album for more pictures.

WNBA Playoffs!
We got free tickets to go see the San Antonio Silver Stars play in the WNBA Playoffs. We hurried to the game so we wouldn't miss the 7 o'clock tip-off. What we didn't know was the game didn't start until 8!! Since we were there so early, we walked around the concourse and had our picture taken. We hope you like it!It was game 3 in a best out of 3 series. Our seats were great, and the game was even better with the Silver Stars hitting a shot with .5 seconds left to win the game. The only bad part is that we left at halftime to get our little sweetie in bed!! We got home just in time to see the end on TV, though...
Happy Birthday Donald!
On Friday Don turned 27 years old. We got up early and had breakfast together then went for a nice family walk before Don had to leave for work. He came home a little earlier than usual so we could go for a nice sit down meal at Chipotle. You can stop laughing now; I know we're addicted and that's why I bought Don a Chipotle shirt that has a picture of a burrito and under it says 'Addicted.'Saturday Don and I were baptized together at our church picnic then went to dinner at our favorite burger joint called Bigz.
Cadynce and I have been going to the pool almost every day now and she is starting to enjoy it and has also started splashing herself. She has also started covering her face with whatever she can get a hold of. It is so funny and yesterday she had this little pig that she would put on her face then let go and start kicking her legs and arms until I take it off or it falls off. She thinks it's really funny. She Did It!!
Cadynce rolled over from her back to her belly yesterday for the first time. She was playing with one of her toys and rolled over but one of her arms was stuck under her. She was so cute and of course I started going crazy cheering and kissing her and Cadynce just smiled! She also started sucking on her big toes yesterday. View Album for more pictures.

Party Time
Sunday we went to Jeff and Kelly's house to celebrate Aiden's baptism. Cadynce got to see Aiden and also Aiden's cousin Taylor. We took the kids out back to play in the kiddie pool and Cadynce loved watching Aiden and Taylor splash and play in the pool. Aiden is 8 months old and Taylor is 9 months old. We didn't take Cadynce's bathing suit so she just went in a swimmer. View Album for more pictures.

4 Months Old
Don't you wish you could just reach through the computer and hug her? Cadynce had her four month check up today and she weighs 12 pounds 12 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. She cried a little until the nurse gave her a sticker to hold and she forgot about the shots and couldn't stop looking at the sticker.

Fun in the Sun
It was a beautiful day for a swim. We took Cadynce in the pool for the first time and she didn't seem to mind. However, I think we were more excited than she was. She just hung out in the floaty we got for her, which is too big for her right now, but she didn't cry and she started to kick her legs a little. My favorite part of her bathing suit is the ruffles on her butt.Cadynce has started to laugh and she has recently discovered her feet so we took some videos of that. A Little Dirt Never Hurt!
Yesterday we went for a bike ride around our neighborhood. We decided to go to the pool before going back home and as we were riding on the sidewalk up to the pool I had to go through a patch of mud left from all the rain. After we were done in the pool we started biking home and I rode through some water and Cadynce made a noise so I turned my head to look at her and she got splattered with mud all over her. When we got home we were laughing because she looked so cute and I said we need to take a picture and blog it. Good thing she hadn't had her bath yet! Make sure you click on the picture to enlarge it so you can see the dirt.

The Cradle Moves On
We met Uncle Mike and Aunt Peggy in Temple, Texas to pass on the cradle that Don's grandpa made in 1995. Mike and Peggy were in Fort Worth, Texas visiting their daughter Becky so we met them half way to give them the cradle because their other daughters Beth and Martha are expecting in August and October. This cradle is being passed around to all the grandkids who are having babies.

3 Months Old
Well, we've been without the internet now for two and a half weeks and so much has happened. Cadynce learned to walk and ride a bike all in the same day! Just kidding. However, she is rolling from her belly on to her back now and is holding things in her hands. Once a week I have a parent educator come to our house for about an hour and I learn what she should be doing at this time and games for her to play that will help her develop. We've been to the pool a couple of times but Cadynce isn't ready for the sun yet so she gets to hang out in the shade and watch Don swim. We bought a bike trailer and we have taken her on a couple of bike rides and she loves it. We have to keep her in her car seat still because she's not quite big enough. It's pretty light weight and the only time I feel like I'm pulling her is when I'm going uphill. We're going to bike with Don as he's training to run a marathon. Happy 4th of July!!
We hope y'all had a great 4th of July. Don flew to San Diego this afternoon so we had all morning together. On my way home from taking Don to his plane it started raining hard. It took me a while to get home and once I got into our neighborhood I wasn't sure if I could get to our house because the roads were so flooded. Our neighbors started fireworks early and all that noise kept Cadynce up screaming. After an hour and fifteen minutes we got in the car and drove to dairy queen and then I sat in the parking lot and watched fireworks and ate my blizzard while Cadynce was sound asleep. Best Friends
Roxy has been quite attached to Cadynce ever since we brought her home from the hospital. Anywhere we lay Cadynce down Roxy will be as close as she can without touching her. Sunday morning while we were making breakfast we set Cadynce in her bumbo so she could watch us and Roxy got up and went to sit right next to her. Where is Hoosier?? She was on her bed ignoring Cadynce as usual. View video.
Birthday Girl

I turned 27 on Saturday and we spent the day in San Marcos shopping at the outlet malls there. It was a beautiful hot and sunny day which was a nice break from all the rain we've had this month. They were having great sales but I just couldn't find anything I needed and I just enjoyed being outside walking. We decided to branch out and have a late lunch at Chipotle on our way home. We stayed at home the rest of the evening and relaxed then watched a movie.

Happy Father's Day

This was our day to recover from our vacation in Indiana. We slept in then got ready for 10:00 church and had a great lunch at Chipotle. I went grocery shopping and Don cut the grass. We got our pictures from the photographer and went and bought a frame for our family picture. We cooked out on the grill and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.
Indiana Trip
We spent the last week and a half in Indiana visiting our family and it's taken me a few days to recover from the trip. We flew home Wednesday, June 6 and Cadynce was very good on the flight, however, I do have to tell this story...when we got to the the airport we didn't have a lot of time before we boarded so I went to the bathroom to get another bottle ready for Cadynce and I told Don that if they started boarding before I got back to go ahead and I'd meet them on the plane. When I got to the gate I didn't see Don so I headed down the walkway. As I got near the plane I saw our car seat and stroller still sitting there and I just shook my head. I took the car seat out of the stroller and folded up the stroller and as I stepped into the plane a flight attendant handed me the pacifier that Don dropped and I couldn't help but chuckle. When I finally made it back to my seat Don looked a little frustrated and said that it was the longest 15 minutes of his life.
We landed in
Chicago and Aunt Carrie and Aunt Cat were there waiting for us at our baggage claim. This was the first time Aunt Carrie got to see Cadynce and she didn't waste any time as she got her out of her car seat and started kissing her cheeks. We got a quick dinner and headed to the Capehart house to meet the cousins. My dad met us over there too so he could see his newest grand-daughter. View Album for more pictures.
We went to visit Mum Mum and Pappie on our way to the rehearsal and they were so excited to meet their great grand-daughter. They did quite a bit of shopping for Cadynce. Great Aunt Linda was not home from work yet so we drove to Kmart to see her and pick up more diapers. View Album for more pictures.
On Saturday, Don was in a wedding at the Avalon and we had a great time showing off our little Cadynce. We didn't stay at the reception too long because Cadynce was getting hungry and she still hadn't met Grandpa Don. View Album for more pictures.

We got to Don and Rhonda's Saturday night after the wedding reception (they just got back from Las Vegas that morning) and I haven't seen Grandpa Don smile that big since the day he met me!!! They did a little shopping while they were in Las Vegas and spoiled their grand-daughter with lots of clothes. View Album for more pictures.

Sunday night we all got together at Tony's Restaurant in Valpo where everyone got to enjoy Cadynce. We had a great time eating pizza and visiting with everyone. View album for more pictures.
We woke up early every morning and walked to my parents house to make breakfast. My mom had a hip replacement the week before we got there so she wasn't able to do much. We cooked, cleaned, and Don did some yard work. View Album for more pictures.
As usual Jeff and Julie were so gracious to let us stay at their house, but this time we left the dogs at summer camp. (Cadynce did much better than the dogs). Uncle Jeff and Aunt Julie got some pretty big smiles out of Cadynce too. View Album for more pictures.
Overall, we had a wonderful yet exhausting trip at home. We bounced from house to house trying to let everyone spend time with Cadynce, and it was all worth it. There's just something about babies that brings joy into each of us.

Play Date With Aiden
Kelly and Aiden came over on Saturday for a play date. Kelly's husband Jeff works with Don and they both left for San Diego this weekend to work a marathon so we decided to get together. Aiden is 3 1/2 months older than Cadynce and look at the difference! Cadynce is wearing the dress that Kelly and Aiden got for her so of course I had to take a million pictures of her because she looks so darn cute.

We'll Be Home Soon!!
Cadynce just gets more precious every day; look at this face. She has hit a growth spurt this past week and is eating every two hours. She is sleeping great at night and is only waking up once now at about 2:00, but we are starting our day now at 6:00am. She has also discovered her hands and has been sucking on her fingers quite a bit lately.

Bolder Boulder
Over Memorial Day weekend Don's company, USAA, was sponsoring the Bolder Boulder 10k in Boulder, Colora
do. This race had about 50,000 participants either running or walking. I have a few good friends (who I played basketball with) still living in Fort Collins so Don found me a cheap ticket and Cadynce and I flew out Saturday morning at 6:30. Don took all our luggage on the corporate jet so all I had was Cadynce and her diaper bag. I was able to check her car seat and stroller at the gate and she sat in my lap on the way there. She had a great first flight and slept the whole way there except while she was messing her diaper. Once we got to Denver we rented a car and drove to our hotel in Boulder where we got settled in and rested a while before going to visit Don at work. After Don was done working we went shopping at the mall and had dinner at PF Chang's.
Sunday we got up and had breakfast together and when Don left for work Cadynce and I got ready and drove up to Fort Collins. I went to my friend Shannon's house where we hung out for a while before we drove up to horsetooth. I wanted a few pictures of Cadynce and I and the foothills. Next, we drove by our old house, our dorm and drove through campus reminiscing our college years. We met up with Heather and Jacque (who are also two of our former teammates) at Old Chicago's for dinner and we had blast catching up on each others lives' and getting updates on other former teammates. Jacque's son Owen is two weeks older than Cadynce so it was fun seeing little Owen and Cadynce together (even though they both slept through dinner). I guess I'll have to fly out for the Bolder Boulder every year so we can all get together. View Album for more pictures.
Monday was the race so Don had to leave really early that morning to work. After the race they were having a Memorial Day ceremony so Cadynce and I got our stuff packed up and in the car and headed to
the football stadium to meet Don for the ceremony. Don got us a VIP pass so we got to be in the club level where it was inside, air conditioned, and lots of free food. We hung out for a while then Cadynce and I left for the airport. Cadynce once again did great on the flight, but this time she was awake almost the entire time. I got lucky this flight because there was an empty seat next to me so I left her in her car seat. We were in the very last row and those seats do not recline so it would have been a long flight if I had to hold her. View Album for more pictures.

Six Weeks Old
I can hardly believe Cadynce is 6 weeks old. She is growing and changing every day and as you can see she has finally started to smile. And it's not the 'I just pooped my pants' smile, it's a real smile and I just can't get enough of it. Occasionally she adds a little giggle which melts my heart. View Album for more pictures.

My 1st Mother's Day
Aunt Cat and Chase
MiMi is back
Rhonda came back for a long weekend right after my mom and Jill left. Cadynce had been spitting up quite a bit so Rhonda came with me to the doctor and then we were sent to the hospital to get her teste
d for reflux or a possible block in her intestines. I was so glad I didn't have to go by myself. Cadynce had to drink some barium while being x-rayed and we got to see her organs at work. The doctor said she was anatomically perfect but she did have reflux. Cadynce was such a good patient and didn't make a peep the whole time. We had to start her on medication which she will continue to take until she grows out of this condition. We spent the rest of the weekend at Chipotle or shopping. We also had Cadynce's pictures taken professionally at our house and we plan to use those pictures to decorate her room. View Album for more pictures.

We also had Cadynce's pictures taken professionally at our house and we plan to use those pictures to decorate her room. View Album for more pictures.Grandma Carol and Aunt Jill
My mom and Jill flew out to visit just two weeks later for a long weekend. We did a lot of shopping and of course
went downtown to the riverwalk and the Alamo since this was Jill's first visit to San Antonio. Fiesta was just finishing up so while we were downtown so was everyone else in the state of Texas. Jill doesn't feel the need to go to Mexico now; she said this was close enough. While we were downtown we toured the Alamo and went for a tour boat ride on the river. My mom loves the tours!! After having Cadynce on Tuesday the two proud grandmas decided they couldn't wait to see their grand-daughter so they bought a flight the night she was born to come see us that weekend. Unfortunately because of weather their flight was cancelled and they couldn't fly out until Saturday. They spent the weekend with us and took turns holding their grand-daughter as much as possible. While they were here they made us several meals and froze them so I didn't have to make dinner for a month...I sure appreciated that. (For some reason I lost all desire to cook while I was pregnant and poor Don had to eat chicken chunks almost every night for dinner). The day before my mom and Rhonda left they cleaned the house and boy did it need it. I never had the nesting part of pregnancy where you want your house to be spotless before the baby comes. I sure loved having them both here hanging out and not to mention the cooking and cleaning they did. View Album for more pictures.
Heading for Home
After spending 48 hours in the hospital it was time for us to go home and introduce Cadynce to her new sisters...Hoosier and Roxy. They weren't quite sure what to think about Cadynce, but Don let them know they were not to touch her. They did much better than we thought they would and actually warmed up to her pretty fast. Here's the Story...
After a pretty uneventful 10 months it was getting close to my due date of April 14, 2007. I woke up April 10 which was a Tuesday morning and went to work at 9am feeling a little uncomfortable. At about 12:00pm I decided to leave work early and go home to rest. After eating lunch the discomfort continued and I decided I should be safe and call Don to come home. When Don got home I was half
on the bed and half on the floor swaying. He asked what he could do to help and I told him to leave me alone and don't talk to me (in a very loving way). Shortly after Don got home I started feeling contractions in my back and they were much more uncomfortable. After a few contractions in my back Don said they were 3 minutes apart and we needed to get to the hospital. We grabbed our bags, put the dogs in their cage, and hopped in the car. It was about a 25 minute drive to the hospital and I had contractions the entire way there. Don asked if I wanted to be dropped off at the emergency room, but I told him he could park and we could walk in. We finally arrived at the nurses station and they said there were no rooms ready so we would be placed in a triage room with several others. I found myself again half on the bed and half on the floor while the nurse kept asking me questions I didn't care to answer. I finally had to lay on the bed so they could examine me to see how dilated I was and the look on the nurses face said it all. That's right, I showed up at the hospital 10cm and ready to p
ush. They immediately got me to a room and said when you feel the urge to push go for it. I pushed for one hour and delivered our beautiful girl Cadynce Noelle Clark at 6:14pm. She was 6 lbs 6oz and 20 inches long. View Album for more pictures.
The next day I was feeling really good and decided to take a nap since I didn't sleep the night before. When I woke up I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I thought for sure if anything was going to be sore it would be my legs, but my arms, shoulders, and back was where I felt it.
Don stayed with us on the chair that pulled out into a bed and would get up in the morning to go home and take care of our dogs. The chair couldn't have been that uncomfortable because when Cadynce would wake up screaming and crying in the middle of the night he didn't even blink and it took me a good 5 minutes to get myself out of bed.
