Happy Halloween!

We weren't too sure how Cadynce's first year of trick or treating was going to go, but we found out that she loved being a Monkey.  We gave the costume a try earlier in the day when we went to Blake's house to take some pictures of the kids dressed up.  She did not want to put the costume on, but once I got it on her she went right into character.  She loved looking at Blake in his Elmo costume.  They also liked that we called them George and Elmo.  We went outside to take some pictures then we let them run up and down the driveway.  They ran in the driveway for a good half hour.
When it was time to get Cadynce in her George costume for tick or treating, she came running from the kitchen all excited, then she fell and busted her lip.  That was not a real good start to the evening.  Once we stopped the bleeding, we gave her a popsicle which made her feel much better.  She got a nice fat lip to show off.  Cadynce had a blast running from house to house.  I think half of the fun was that she got to run in the street!  She only wanted to go to the houses with pumpkins so she could touch them.  We only went out for about a half hour then put her to bed, and Don and I handed out candy the rest of the evening.  View Album for more pictures.  Click here for videos.

South Texas Maze

Saturday night we went to the South Texas Maze in Hondo, Texas.  We hadn't heard anything about this place, but we decided to give it a try.  We all had a great time.  Cadynce saw the goats and immediately starting running for them.  She was trying so hard to hug them through the fence.  We walked around looking at everything they had, then we sat down and ate dinner.  We decided to walk the corn maize before it got dark and Cadynce thought it was so cool running through there.  It took us about 45 minutes to make it to the end.  The last thing we did was the hay ride.  Cadynce was enjoying watching the tractor, but it was the cows that we saw that got her really excited.  She started yelling "cow"  "moo" and waving to them.  It was really cute.  She talked about those cows all the way home.  Sunday we went and picked out a pumpkin and took it home and carved it.  We walk around the neighborhood every day looking at everyone's pumpkins.  View Album for more pictures.  Click here for videos.

18 Months Old

I can hardly believe Cadynce is 18 months old now.  She is growing up so fast, but her hair is still lagging behind!  We went walking on some trails today at the park, and Cadynce had such a great time just being able to walk and run around on her own.  She found her two favorite rocks that she held on to, and she didn't even let go of them when she fell.  She took several good falls and only walked away with a scratch on her elbow (which she is very proud of).  If you didn't know already, Cadynce is obsessed with elbows!  Everywhere we go she points out elbows and she'll touch them if we're close enough.  View Album for more pictures.

Colorado Trip

We had a really great trip to Colorado Springs this weekend.  Cadynce just keeps getting better and better every time we fly.  We got there Friday morning and took our time getting to the Springs.  When we got there we went to the Academy gift shop then we stopped by the athletic facility to see some people Don knows.  Saturday was game day.  Cadynce got to see some airplanes fly over right before the game started.  It started raining in the fourth quarter so we left a little early and unfortunately Air Force lost to Navy.  It was a lot of fun being able to take Cadynce to the game with us.  Sunday we didn't leave until the evening so we took our time and let Cadynce nap at the hotel before we left for Denver.  Before going to the airport we went to the Denver Zoo, and it was a really great zoo.  It started to rain right when we got there, but being Colorado we knew it would only rain for 15 minutes so we waited it out.  We were able to get so close to the animals which made a big difference for Cadynce.  It was a great trip, but we're glad to be home.  View Album for more pictures.

Indoor Playland

Today Nicole and I took the kids to an indoor playland, and they had a blast.  When we first got there, they both just ran around unsure of what to play with first.  Cadynce's favorite things were the roller coaster and the big slide.  I think they managed to play with every toy in the place.  View Album for more pictures.
