Friends Weekend
Our friends made the trip down from Austin to stay the night at our place. They have a new addition to the family...Molly is almost 4 months old now. They arrived on Saturday at lunch time. The kids started playing the second they walked in the door. They stopped for a few minutes to shove some lunch down and then they got back to playing. Our house was one crazy and loud place, but they all played so well together. View Album for more pictures.

Easter Weekend
We had a fun Easter weekend, but Easter Sunday was definitely the highlight of the weekend. A friend Don worked with in OKC was in town with his fancy camera. He offered to take our pictures before we went to brunch. We can't wait to get them back to see how they turned out. We had a great time catching up over breakfast, and hearing all about his 14 year old son he and his wife adopted 3 years ago.
Once we got home it was time to get ready for our friends who were coming over later that afternoon. It was great to have friends over to celebrate Easter. We enjoyed some good food and then spent the rest of the time playing in the backyard.
Just days before Easter I learned about the Resurrection Cookies, and I knew we had to make them. We started them Saturday night and then we got to take them out of the oven on Easter morning. Cadynce really loved making them and hearing the Easter story. View Album for more pictures.

Cadynce's Birthday Weekend
Cadynce turned four on Sunday. I can hardly believe it's been four years since I gave birth to that little booger! We were so happy that Grandpa and Mimi flew out to spend the weekend with us, and help us celebrate Cadynce's 4th birthday. Saturday morning we drove to the Wildlife Ranch where we drove through and fed the wild animals. All the cars move really slow and sometimes we were all just stopped. We let the kids out of their car seats to sit by the windows and drop food out. Cadynce thought every animal was "adorable" and Donnie continuously threw food out the window one by one (even when there were no animals). The animals hung out by all the cars and grabbed the food from the ground. Some of them even took it from our hands. We saw all kinds of deer, longhorns, buffalo, giraffes, rhinos, ostriches, lamas, and zebras. We all had a great time looking at all of the "adorable" animals.
Later in the evening Grandpa and Mimi took Cadynce shopping for new summer clothes. Cadynce taught Grandpa all about accessorizing. She picked out sunglasses, a case for her sunglasses, headbands, bracelets, necklaces and shoes. She's becoming quite the girl. Mimi and I picked out the clothes. It was quite the shopping spree. Thank you Grandpa and Mimi...we are ready for the hot, hot sun now.
Sunday we played in the back yard and enjoyed the nice weather and then went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch on the Riverwalk. Cadynce loved walking around and looking at all the animals, and we even got to sit right next to the Gorillas. The animals move and make noise every ten minutes. The only bad thing was Donnie did not like when they moved and kept saying "off." He cried almost every time they turned on so Mimi would stand up and touch them and tell him the gorilla was nice. After lunch we walked along the river until it was time to take Grandpa and Mimi to the airport. It was such a fun birthday weekend. View Album for more pictures.

Donnie 22 Months Old
I cannot believe Donnie is still not two yet. This probably comes with being a second child, but he does pretty much everything that big sister does. He is communicating really well, and I can understand just about everything he says. He is very good at using his manners, and remembers to say "thank you" almost every time. He is swinging quite high on the big kid swing, climbing on the big kid stuff at playgrounds, jumping off of high objects, and the list could go on and on. He wasn't into tv shows until recently, but has found a love for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The first words when he wakes up are "Watch Mickey?" He still has a love for the outdoors and that is where we spend the second half of our day. He is a funny little kid with a lot of personality, and he loves to make us laugh.

Namah's Visit
Namah stayed with us for a week over her spring break. She got a lot of exercise as she played monster with Cadynce, which involved running around the house screaming. We had a fun week; the weather was so nice we were able to spend a lot of time outside in our backyard. One night we tried a new restaurant and it was one of the most enjoyable places we've ever been. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, and they had a place for the kids to play. Cadynce made a friend who was probably eight or nine years old. Donnie just wanted to slide and didn't hesitate to jump in with all the older kids. We got home a little late, but decided to play 'Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar' on the driveway, and then a game of hide and seek.Sunday, Don and I went to the men's NCAA game that was here in San Antonio. It was a great game as we watched VCU beat Kansas.
One day when Cadynce didn't have school we went to the Children's Museum. We went to one that was a little further away and had never been to before. It was really nice...not too big. We checked everything out and then split up. Donnie wanted to stay outside and play in the water and Cadynce wanted to play with the baby doll in the ambulance. We enjoyed a nice little lunch there and then played for a little while longer before heading home. It was a nice quiet ride home with the kids fast asleep in the back. It was wonderful having Namah here and I'm sure we wore her out. View Album for more pictures.

Cadynce's Birthday Party
We celebrated Cadynce's birthday with her friend Blake last night at a place called Pump It Up. Everyone (adults included) had a blast. I knew Cadynce would be off playing with her friends and be very independent, but I was completely shocked with Donnie. He could do everything by himself. He climbed up the ladder (which isn't very easy) and then just went down the huge slide without hesitation. It was awesome. It was such a great place for a party. After and hour and half of playing we went to the party room for cake. It was a fun evening. View Album for more pictures.

Fun Times!
A lot of different things going on in these pictures. I took Donnie to an open gym to play, we made our first trip of the year to Sea World, and we had pizza in the park. View Album for more pictures.

Cadynce's School Art Show
Last night was Cadynce's school art show. Their class has been learning about several different artists over the past few weeks. With each artist they learn about, they paint their own picture inspired by the artist. The teachers put together an amazing show for the families to see all the kids art work. Cadynce was so proud to show off all of her work, and she remembered all of the artists names she had learned about. It was such a fun night. View Album for more pictures.

Donnie 21 Months
We are quickly approaching the terrible two's. Donnie is all boy and is acting more like a two year old every day. He is insanely cute (most of the time), and loves to make everyone laugh. He is not at all what I expected from a second child. He demands to be heard and does not want big sister getting all of the attention. He has this tae-bo looking dance that he randomly does when we're out in public. He is jumping off playgrounds completely trusting that Daddy will catch him, and he is bumped, bruised and bloodied up almost daily. His language is still booming. He's been putting two words together and sometimes three...he's a talker like his sister. Car rides are interesting when they both want to be doing all the talking. He is such an awesome little guy and he brings so much love and laughter to our family.
